The Nehru Planetarium offers immersive dome 'Sky Theatre' shows and space exhibits that run all year except Mondays — a dependable August-to-December outing when weather pushes families indoors. Shows use visuals, sound and storytelling to explain the solar system, stars and galaxies in a way that captivates children, and the 3D shows are especially popular. Alongside the theatre, hands-on space models and displays — including a model of the rocket that carried Rakesh Sharma to space — give curious children plenty to explore. The planetarium also runs annual astronomy quizzes and art competitions, including in August. Best enjoyed by children of about four and up; younger siblings are welcome with family.
